Family Walk near Aberfoyle

From the car park join the Rob Roy Way (minor road with pavements and grass verge) for about 0.75km. Take the forest road to Doon Hill and while climbing it look out for toadstools, fairy doors and houses. Messages may be left for the fairies! At the summit hear the Rev Robert Kirk’s story and make a wish at his tree. On the descent look out for the wood nymph. Continue on forest road to Fairy Knowe and cross it on a rough track. Return to the car park on forest road and track with the opportunity for Winnie the Pooh sticks when crossing the footbridge over the River Forth. ANYONE WHO WISHES MAY LEAVE THE WALK AFTER DOON HILL, RETURNING TO THE START BY THE OUTWARD ROUTE. THOSE WHO DON’T WANT TO WALK OVER THE TWO HILLS MAY STAY ON THE FOREST ROAD.
